2022 Women Veterans Conference & Resource Fair

The Chicago Heights Vet Center is planning to host, in collaboration with 100 Pretty Purses for Female Veterans, an all-inclusive Women Veterans Conference and Resource Fair. The purpose of the one-day event is to perform outreach and connect women veterans to services RCS, VHA, VBA, faith-based and community-based services. In conjunction with including all Vet Centers in the surrounding area in this event, other programs will include Suicide Prevention, Whole Health, VA Prosthetics (hair), VA Move Program, Illinois State Employment Security, and faith-based and community-based organizations that will offer information on wellness and housing to employment and credit repair.

The event will be supported by the CHVC staff, and staff from the other local surrounding Vet Centers. There is an expectation that there will be 300 female veterans attending this one-day event. The overall purpose of this event is to effectively facilitate networking, connections, education, employment readiness, health and wellness, housing services, and credit improvement opportunities to women veterans of every military branch. Additionally, the purpose of this event will be to also honor the contributions of women veterans and encourage them to strive towards their greatness and harness their innate creative gifts to improve their lives and their circumstances. This event will provide a variety of keynote speakers, educational workshops, networking opportunities, and breakout sessions. The event will be held on April 30, 2022, at the Richton Park Village Hall location, 4455 Sauk Trail, Richton Park, IL 60471. Setup will begin at 7:30am, and the event will start at 9:00 am and end at 5pm.
